In this 5 issue mono-series, the Spectre has no human host and is running amock! The JLA and other hereoes try to talk the original host Billy Corrigan to return from heaven but he is like, "no, I'm good thanks." They move to purgatory and find Hal Jordan who agrees. He becomes the Spectre in Book 5.
Each issue is what I call "read once and put away." Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Matthew Smith and Steve Mitchell. Series ran weekly in November 1999.
