Handmade Stained Glass Three Frozen Peaks 8 inch Round Panel

A handmade stained glass piece depicting three snow topped peaks in winter. The glass I chose reminds me of frozen winter ice; it is an iridized ripple light blue that seems perfect for this piece. The mountain tops are opaque white glass with gentle undulations reminiscent of drifting now. Iridized cobalt blue glass is used to create the border.

This piece is eight inches round.

I work in the tiffany method: each piece of stained glass is cut from a larger sheet and is ground to smooth the edges until they are the desired shape. I wrap copper foil evenly around the edges of the glass and solder it all together ensuring a close fit with even solder lines. This piece is framed in lead came and the came and solder are treated with a darkening patina which enhances the colors of the stained glass.. It is cleaned, waxed and buffed. A piece of black chain is attached and it comes to you ready to hang.
