This figurine is 5.75" tall and the trademark (6 Missing Bee) places the manufacture of this piece Circa 1979-1989. This rather special figurine has no chips, mars, repairs, or crazing on the bottom (see photo). It is in perfect MINT shape and created by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1967 from sketches by Sister Maria. It was the first figurine available only to members of the Goebel Collectors Club (now M.I. Hummel Club).
Sister Maria had a love of children and sketched them in various situations. This young boy is presenting his Valentine gifts to a friend. Dressed in his lederhosen, carrying a bottle of pop and a red heart with an inscription in German which means “I like you”. It carries on the bottom a blue inscription saying, “EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION #4 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS CLUB”.
