Pair of Chinese Blue & White Ginger Jars Attributed to the Qing Dynasty (18th–19th Century) Description A striking matched Large pair of Chinese porcelain ginger jars, beautifully hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue on a creamy white ground. Each jar features an intricate scrolling floral design with stylised blossoms and foliage, inspired by traditional Chinese motifs associated with prosperity and longevity. The pattern is bold yet elegant, wrapping fully around each vessel, with a decorative border around the shoulder and base. Both jars are topped with their original fitted lids, each finished with a pointed knop finial, completing the classic ginger jar silhouette. The bases display a four-character reign-style mark within a square cartouche, typical of Qing dynasty export and domestic wares. While these marks are often honorific (apocryphal) rather than date-specific, they strongly reference traditional imperial designs and craftsmanship. These jars are a generous size (approx. 12 inches tall and approx 9 inches wide), making them ideal statement pieces for fireplaces, shelving displays or floor standing. They look particularly impressive styled as a pair, flanking furniture or used as decorative centrepieces. ⸻ Condition • Excellent overall condition • No cracks, chips or restoration observed • Light age-related wear to the glaze consistent with vintage porcelain • Lids fit well and match correctly • Colours remain strong and vibrant ⸻ Style & Era • Attributed to Qing Dynasty styling • Likely 18th–19th century inspired production • Hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue • Traditional Chinese export form Display & Use Perfect for: • Interior styling • Asian-inspired décor • Mantelpiece or console display • Collector’s cabinet • High-end home staging These will ensure this parcel will be fully protected with packaging to stop any breakages happening.
