A lovely amber glass Victorian Era Christmas fairy light. The fairy lantern has a diamond or quilted pattern, and would have originally had a wire under the rim with a handle to hang it on a Christmas tree.
This fairy measures approximately 3.75" tall and is 2.25" across the rim. It has "PAIN & SONS 1162 2 LONDON" in the middle part of the bottom, and "MADE IN FRANCE" on the side of the bottom.
Considering it's age, this lamp is in excellent condition and is so very lovely.
Antique glass that has been used for more than 100 years is handmade, so the mouth is jagged, and the thickness, fluctuations, bubbles, inclusions and lumps and colors of the glass are all unique and very nice.
These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of hand made glass and are not usually mentioned in the description.
