These cufflinks perfectly reflect the era in America from the late 1960s to the early 70s, as the mod scene transitioned into disco culture.

Born in London, England, the mods were working-class youths who donned high-quality suits and Italian fashion, wore vintage military parkas to brave the Yotsuyu, and sped through the city on customized scooters... It was a style that embodied the "dream of the working class." For them, accessories were an important part of making everyday life cool, and especially in nightclubs and dance halls, flashy items that reflected light were considered stylish.

That sensibility was inherited in America and eventually became even more emphasized in dance halls and club culture. Rhinestones that shimmered under the mirror ball and flashy accessories became essential items for nightlife to stand out from the crowd, and eventually evolved into a new culture called "disco."

Plastic resin, which was the latest material at the time, is used as the base and has a pearl-like finish.
The rhinestones are treated with aurora processing, which was popular at the time. This is an innovative technique still used today, where a thin metal film is coated on the glass surface by vacuum deposition to produce an iridescent luster.
Nine of these aurora stones are arranged in a row, and they shine in a variety of colors from red to blue every time they catch the light, creating a pop and retro-future atmosphere.

Due to the structure of embedding rhinestones in the resin base of the time, the strength is slightly lower compared to modern metal cufflinks.
