Vintage Self-Heating Health Pad No. 570 made by Kristee Products Company in Akron, Ohio. This item rarely seen available. Estimate it dates to 1950s or earlier and was way ahead of its time since heating pads from the period were all electric. Box contains a suede type envelope with a chemical compound pouch inside which produces heat when water is added. Directions for use on back of the box. This item was recommended for use with toothaches, colds, chest pains, lumbago, rheumatism, bronchitis, sprains, etc.. Box, suede envelope and heating pouch are all in good condition (Heating pouch is untested). Cardboard box with some wear from age and handling, but displays well as shown. Suede envelope is a little brittle from age. Box measures about 9” x 7 5/8”. See pics for more details.
